    针对传统的末梢采血需要，采血笔提供一个标准的采血穿刺深度的笔头，同时也提供一个针对多部位采血的备选笔头(AST)。

    多部位采血是指从除指尖之外的其他部分采血，例如手掌、上臂、前臂等。多部位采血通常采集到的血样比正常的指尖采血要少，但是适用于一些特殊情况。在尝试多部位采血之前，请查阅血糖仪说明书并咨询医生的建议。

Alternate Site Testing is a procedure in which capillary blood is taken from sites other than finger tips; a fleshy part of the arm can be used (or another alternative site) which is free form any visible veins. This can be beneficial because sites can be chosen that are less sensitvethan the finger tips, offering a greater degree of comfort during regular blood sampling.

Alternate Site Testing generally produces less blood than the normal fingertip procedure but it is suitable for producing samples for use with certain blood glucose monitoring systeems.
